Hyla Middle School
Hyla Middle School
Increases in student enrollment and an ambitious expansion plan led Bainbridge Island’s 32-year-old Hyla School to contract with Carley Construction to update this beloved Island landmark.
The four-year, campus-wide project was completed in three phases, and included classroom conversions, new restrooms, renovation of the 120-year-old administration building, and the construction of a new community gathering space complete with a commercial kitchen and performance stage. Built in collaboration with the architectural team and Hyla Board, the project was delivered on time and under budget without disruption to school operations.
